Yes, you read that right. You won’t have to worry about interest during the entirety of your instalment period.

As an example, let’s say you’ve made a purchase of RM6,000 through EPP for a 6-month period. Your instalment amount for each month during this period will be RM1,000. This stands true as long as you follow the terms and conditions set by your lender and ensure you repay your dues in a timely fashion.

Before you opt for a scheme like this, it’s crucial to understand its core. Make sure the EPP scheme you’re choosing is really 0%. You may also have to make the purchase from a particular merchant outlet if your credit card’s EPP plan requires for it.

You’ll be well-advised to go through all the terms and conditions, understand your spending behaviour to see whether you can afford to pay the instalments every month, and then make a decision.

This plan also lets you shop at over 1,000 merchant outlets around the world.

How does it work

  • You will have to make the payment with your Citi Credit Card
  • The total price of the purchased item will then be divided by the tenure you have picked

What you should keep in mind

  • The Citi 0% Easy Pay Plan is not available on all Citi Credit Cards
  • You cannot earn reward points or cash rebates if you have used this plan for your purchases
  • For 0% interest, you have to settle your outstanding balance on or before the payment due date

2. AmBank Easy Payment Plan

Going on a shopping spree without bearing the burden of interest gets easier with the AmBank 0% Easy Payment Plan. For starters, this plan has a 0% interest rate on your purchases. You can choose to repay the dues for up to 24 months. And you can buy products like kitchen appliances or smartphones at any of the participating merchants.

How does it work

  • You have to make the payment with your AmBank Credit Card
  • Before making your purchase, inform the EPP merchant that you wish to buy a product under EPP and mention your chosen instalment plan as well

What you should keep in mind

  • For a tenure ranging between 3 to 6 months, the minimum purchase amount has to be RM500
  • You have to settle your outstanding dues on or before the payment due date to avoid finance charges and/or management fees

3. Maybank 0% EzyPay Installment Plan

If there’s a big-ticket purchase coming up soon, you can also opt for the Maybank 0% EzyPay Installment Plan. To begin with, you enjoy a 0% interest rate on your purchase. And you can choose a repayment tenure anywhere between 3 months to 36 months, depending on your convenience.

How does it work

  • You can purchase your products only at participating merchant outlets to be eligible for the EPP scheme. Click here for the full list
  • You have to pay for your products or services with your Maybank Visa, MasterCard or American Express Credit Card

What you should keep in mind

  • You will not be eligible for the EPP if your credit limit is less than the purchase amount
  • You cannot opt for EPP if your Maybank Credit Card account is delinquent, suspended, cancelled, or in breach of any terms and conditions
  • The instalment period for your purchase varies by individual authorized EzyPay Merchant and you should check your options before buying a product

4. CIMB Bank 0% Easy Pay

You can convert your expensive retail purchases into affordable monthly repayments with the CIMB Bank 0% Easy Pay plan. And for flexibility, you can choose a tenure of up to 36 months. How convenient!

How does it work

  • To be eligible for EPP, your purchases have to be made at participating merchant outlets. Here’s the complete list
  • Payment for the products has to be made with a CIMB credit card

What you should keep in mind

  • The minimum tenure for EPP is 6 months and the maximum is 36 months
  • You cannot earn cash rebates or bonus points on EPP
  • Your EPP purchases are subject to finances charges and late payment charges if you don’t settle your dues on or before the payment due date

5. Bank Islam Instalment Payment Plan

Split your huge purchases into convenient monthly payments with the Bank Islam Instalment Payment Plan. For starters, there’s no profit rate charged on your purchases made through the Installment Payment Plan. And you have the option of choosing your own tenure of up to 36 months.   • Your credit limit has to be higher than your purchase amount for the payment to be processed

What you should keep in mind

  • If the monthly payments are not cleared on or before the payment due date, your purchase will be subject to normal profit rates. These profit rates are anywhere from 13% to 17%, depending on your repayment behaviour
